Macros Redux @ the Professional Editors Network

  • Highland Park Library 1974 Ford Parkway Saint Paul, MN, 55116 United States (map)

Macros are scripts that automate repetitive computer tasks. Using them can save editors and proofreaders untold hours of hassle while increasing productivity. So why don't more wordsmiths use them? Too often it boils down to one thing: intimidation. I’m reprising my 2016 macros workshop to demystify macros in a fun, friendly manner. I’ll go over exactly what macros are, where to find them online, ways to integrate them into editorial work, and tips for troubleshooting when they go awry.
